About Me

After completing my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, I started my career as a Territory Manager in Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) in the field of Customer Development where I got the opportunity to have a thorough and practical understanding of marketing as an applied discipline. My interests in the discipline encouraged me to join BRAC Business School, BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh where I had the opportunity to take some marketing courses. This was a very worthwhile experience which not only allowed me to enjoy teaching but also gave proper thought to better understand my subjects. My next academic appointment was in the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka where I am serving as an Assistant Professor since 2012. Currently, I am doing “Master of Marketing” at Monash Business School, Monash University on study leave.

I believe that teaching is the perfect way for creating, sharing and applying knowledge. Being an academic, I have done a few articles with my colleagues and students and taught marketing courses (Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Services Marketing, Social Marketing and Marketing for Non-profit Organizations) as a fulltime faculty in University of Dhaka and part time faculty in different private universities in Bangladesh. Besides, I am also interested to work with different corporate houses in future for conducting research and consultancy after completing my PhD in social marketing.

All in all, my long-term plan is to remain in teaching where I can share my understanding, knowledge and experience with my students, academics and other stakeholders and can contribute towards the advancement of social marketing discipline. My vision is to ensure greater social good by social marketing and my goal is to bring positive changes in society by exploring social capital and influencing behaviours of the society members that will benefit society as well as the individual.
